Shaibu Kanyemba, a renowned Zimbabwean sculptor, was born in the Chitungwiza District of Zimbabwe. Growing up in a family of artists, he was influenced by his brothers, Denny and Marshford, who are also sculptors. Shaibu’s educational journey began at Howson Trust for his primary education and continued at Seke High School for his secondary education.

Shaibu’s passion for sculpting ignited in 1987. He honed his skills under the mentorship of Nesbert Mukomberanwa and the acclaimed first-generation sculptor Moses Masaya1. In 2012, Shaibu traveled to Holland, where he conducted successful workshops alongside his brother, Marshford. These workshops provided an opportunity to teach art to students, further spreading his influence and passion for sculpting1.
